About us

We are a team as passionate about horses as we are about ensuring our visitors feel like they are part of the family.

At Cape Winelands Riding, each team member brings different skills to the (s)table and all play a vital role in ensuring guests are comfortable, safe and that our horses are in peak condition to ensure the rider gets the most out of the experience. We also see our horses as an integral part of the team and the foundation of the business – if they are happy, our riders are happy, and a happy rider is one who returns time and again.

Our stable yard team

Travelling solo to ride through some lovely countryside on horseback is my idea of bliss. My experience was catered for as we cantered for long periods through the wine regions of the Western Cape, tasted some excellent wines - for me, this was overall one of the highlights of my trip to South Africa. Would highly recommend this place.

BEST vacation ever. Ellen and Louis are both very experienced guides and do consider your riding abilities...be prepared to expect the unexpected in a very pleasant way... Louis´time frame and synchronization by far exceeds any Swiss watch...precise, yet not obtrusive...just give him some ideas and some time, and "miracles" will happen.

I spent a week here ambling around the beautiful winelands on horse-back, looked after by Ellen and Louis. Mostly, bitless bridles as the horses are so well-behaved - there’s a range to choose from. Some of the best food I’ve ever tasted (those French restaurants in Paarl) and the accommodation @Klein Waterval was just right.
