One of our senior guides, Ellen is a highly skilled rider and has a thorough knowledge of the area and its history. She also handles a lot of the administrative duties in the office and liaises with guests and tour operators on bookings and local excursions.
Ellen is originally from North West Province and moved to the Western Cape in 1993. Even though she started riding when she was 9, it was only ever a hobby. In 2012 she finally got the chance to leave the office environment behind and make horses a full time career. After doing basic trail guiding in a wildlife sanctuary for two years, Ellen joined Cape Winelands Riding in 2014, making a personal lifelong dream come true.
“I am blessed to work with such magnificent horses in breathtaking surroundings and to meet people from all over the world. The entire Cape Winelands Riding experience has broadened my mind in ways I never imagined and it’s such a privilege to be a part of this passionate team where every day is guaranteed to be different!”
